MANILA, Philippines — A lone bettor in Caloocan City won the P222.9-million jackpot of the Grand Lotto 6/55 in Saturday night’s draw.
Mel Robles, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) general manager and vice chairman of the board, said the winner – who placed a bet at a lotto outlet in Grace Park – guessed the winning combination 17-26-30-39-14-07, which carried a jackpot of P222,993,453.20.
Thirty-six other bettors won P100,000 each for guessing five of the six-digit winning combination.
The Tax Reform for Acceleration and Inclusion Law imposes a 20 percent tax on all lotto winnings above P10,000.
The Grand Lotto 6/55 jackpot was last won on Jan. 17 when a bettor who used the PCSO’s e-lotto system won P698.8 million, the second highest jackpot prize won in the entire history of the lotto games in the country.
The Grand Lotto 6/55 is drawn every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
